Why We Built It

Know how Saudi consumers think and spend. In near real time.

Saudi Pulse is a continuous consumer sentiment tracker built to capture how Saudi consumers think, feel, and spend as their behaviour shifts. Continuous fieldwork, wave by wave, so every shift is measured as it happens.

The pace problem

Saudi Pulse runs multiple fieldwork waves across the year, with each wave capturing a fresh snapshot of consumer sentiment. This longitudinal design means rapidly shifting behaviours are caught as they emerge. Between W1 and W2 alone, spending confidence dropped 15 percentage points across the market.

The cost problem

Bespoke primary research costs tens of thousands of riyals per wave and takes 8–12 weeks to deliver. Saudi Pulse is syndicated, the cost is shared across subscribers, making continuous consumer intelligence accessible at any company size.

The breadth problem

Traditional research covers your brand and your category in isolation. Saudi Pulse covers 16 categories simultaneously, so when wallet share migrates from one category to another, every team sees it, not just the team who commissioned the study.

The result: continuous intelligence your entire organisation can act on.

The COO adjusts operational plans around where spending is actually flowing. The CFO anchors revenue forecasts in verified, wave-fresh demand data. The CMO reallocates media investment based on where consumer sentiment is heading. Saudi Pulse is the continuous intelligence layer that keeps every function working from the same market reality.

W1–W2 2026 · Headline Findings

Four things Saudi brands need to know right now.

61/100
Confidence Compressed, Not Collapsed
Every major confidence indicator moved downward from W1 to W2, economic outlook, personal finances, employment sentiment. But the floor held. The story is compression: from high conviction into cautious optimism. The market stayed standing.
45%
In a Wait-and-See Position
Nearly half of Saudi consumers are in a holding pattern on major spending decisions, pausing on big tickets while maintaining everyday spend. The biggest single shift this wave, driven by shortened planning horizons and a wait-for-clarity stance.
42%
Switched Brands Across W1–W2
4 in 10 Saudi consumers switched at least one brand in the past 90 days. Price is still the #1 trigger, but quality perception and in-store experience are closing the gap fast. Brand loyalty is earned, wave by wave.
+11pp
Protective Premium Is on the Rise
Willingness to pay more for quality in Groceries jumped 11 points, the largest upward shift in spending behaviour this wave. Saudi consumers aren’t trading down across the board. Where quality feels essential, they’re still paying for it.

Inside the Report

A detailed report your entire team can act on.

Saudi Pulse is built on primary survey data, structured for decision-making, with category cuts, demographic splits, and wave-on-wave trend lines throughout.

The Four Structural Forces

One framework explains everything that moved from W1 to W2. The Planning Freeze, the Forgiveness Deficit, the Hedonic Drain, and the Provenance Shield, each with its own commercial logic. This is the interpretive backbone of the report.

Consumer Confidence Index

A composite CCI score built from five verified sub-drivers: economic outlook, personal finances, employment sentiment, purchase intent, and savings behaviour. Tracked wave-on-wave, with full demographic cuts so you can see where confidence is holding and where it is not.

Category Spending Architecture

Sixteen categories ranked by what consumers cut first and protect last, layered with premium willingness and spending pleasure scores. Groceries surged +11pp on quality premium. Travel fell −9pp. Every category has a different story, and a different strategy.

The Forgiveness Deficit

NPS fell across all ten measured sectors simultaneously, including Banks, where satisfaction actually improved. The report classifies this as a mood artefact — a market-wide signal that determines whether you fix your service or wait out the cycle.

C-Suite Role Briefs

Separate readouts for your COO, CFO, CMO, and Head of Research. Each brief draws directly from the data, surfacing the six decisions most relevant to each function, structured so the insight is already action-ready.

Forward Indicators & Wave 3 Watch List

Five specific thresholds that signal when the market is turning: when purchase confidence drops below 40%, when promotional messaging can re-enter, when travel rebounds. A forward-looking recovery map with concrete triggers your planning team can act on.
